Inception
Join India’s first World Model Hackathon in Bengaluru on June 20 and build something that reacts back in real time.
Beyond predicting the next token.
World models learn to simulate reality: space, time, physics, cause and effect. Inception is a hackathon where you build on top of one: real-time, generative, interactive apps that turn a model of the world into something people can actually use.
Tracks
Interactive Worlds
Real-time reactive games and simulations that feel alive and responsive.
Generative Environments
Coherent worlds and scenes generated from prompts, images, or seeds.
Agents in Worlds
Agents that perceive, reason, and act inside simulated environments.
Developer Tools
Editors, SDKs, pipelines, and infrastructure that accelerate world model building.
Reactor
Reactor recently emerged from stealth with a $59M Series A to build the infrastructure for real-time AI and world models.
For Inception, Reactor powers every build. Selected teams receive API credits, access to world-model endpoints, and direct support from Reactor engineers throughout the day.
What you get
- Access to Reactor’s world-model APIs and credits
- Starter templates to get building fast
- Mentors working at the frontier of world models
- Workspace, food, and caffeine for a full day of building
Details
We’re recognizing more than one great idea. Multiple standout builds will receive cash prizes from a $1,500 prize pool.
FAQs
Anyone who wants to build: developers, researchers, founders, designers, game developers, AR/VR folks, students, and first-time hackers. We read every application, and what matters most is that you genuinely want to make something.
Either works. You can come alone or with a team of up to three people. One thing that genuinely matters: the Luma form asks whether you’re registering solo or as a team. Pick the right option, because that’s how we slot you in.
Projects should be new ideas built for Inception, with the real work happening during the hackathon hours. Thinking, sketching, and team planning beforehand are welcome, but the code itself should be written on the day.
An in-person build day in Bengaluru on June 20, where 60 to 75 selected builders make real-time, interactive apps on top of world models. It’s free, brought to you by Interact Studio and Launchd, and powered by Reactor. At the end of the day, judges pick multiple builds to celebrate, and those teams take home cash prizes from a $1,500 prize pool.
A model that learns to simulate how a world behaves: space, light, physics, cause and effect. It generates that world frame by frame, fast enough for you to interact with it in real time. Think of the difference between watching a video and being inside one you can steer. At Inception you build applications on top of these models; you don’t need to train one yourself.
The developer platform powering Inception. One API and SDK gives you access to major real-time world models with very low-latency streaming, which turns a world model from something you prompt into something you can build a live app on. Reactor recently emerged from stealth with a $59M Series A.
No. Starter kits, API credits, and mentors take you from zero to a working build inside the day. Most people in the room will be touching this technology seriously for the first time, and that’s sort of the point. Show up curious and we’ll handle the ramp.
Your laptop and charger, and anything you like building with: headphones, a controller, a headset you want to demo on. We take care of the rest, including workspace, food, and caffeine for the whole day.
A free seat at the build day, Reactor API credits and access to world-model endpoints, starter templates to get going fast, and mentors from Launchd, Interact Studio, and Reactor throughout the day. You’ll hear from us by June 18 with the venue details.
